Prost8 is a herbal complex formulated to take care of men’s prostate health. It contains 6 main ingredients: Saw palmetto, pumpkin seeds, ubi jaga, muira puama, pomegranate seeds and tongkat ali. These 6 ingredients each have its potent benefits and work together to give the best results.
Serenoa repens (Saw Palmetto)
Saw palmetto is a supplement made from the fruit of the Serenoa repens tree. It’s often used to treat enlarged prostate, improve urinary function, and enhance hair growth. Some also use the supplement to boost libido and fertility and reduce inflammation. Saw palmetto may help treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — a medical condition characterized by a slow, noncancerous yet abnormal enlargement of the prostate. BPH is common in older men, affecting up to 75% of men in their 70s. If left untreated, the prostate can enlarge to the point of interfering with the ability to urinate. Studies reported that saw palmetto may help increase urine flow and reduce nighttime urination in men with BPH.
Pumpkin seeds are rich in zinc, carotenoids and phytosterols – compounds thought to support prostate health. There is more zinc in a healthy prostate than in any other area of the body, but levels are lower in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or prostate cancer. What’s more, a carotenoid-rich diet has been found to reduce the risk of BPH, whilst phytosterols can help relieve the symptoms of BPH.
One of the cause of prostate enlargement is dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in men. DHT is responsible for semen production and expulsion but too much DHT stimulates prostate cells, causing them to multiply. Research shows that pumpkin seed blocks the actions of 5-alpha reductase, one of the enzymes involved in the conversion of testosterone into DHT. This could help prevent prostate cells from multiplying.
Smilax myosotiflora (Ubi Jaga)
Ubi Jaga, which has a scientific name called Smilax Myosotiflora, is a type of creeping plant with tubers found in the tropical forest in South East Asia such as Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Indonesia. Traditionally, Ubi jaga is usually used as a native herb by indigenous folk for its aphrodisiac effects. It also improves blood circulation and balances hormones in men.
Muira puama is a tree originating from Brazil’s Amazon forest. It is a herb that is sometimes used as an adaptogen, a substance that increase the body’s resistance to the negative effects of chronic stress. For centuries it has been used as an aphrodisiac and an immunity booster. They would make it into tonics to give energy and treat impotence and sexual insufficiency.
Many cultures use pomegranate as a folk medicine. Pomegranate is native to Iran. It is primarily cultivated in Mediterranean countries, parts of the United States, Afghanistan, Russia, India, China, and Japan. You’ll see pomegranate in some royal and medical coats of arms. Pomegranate contains a variety of chemicals that might have antioxidant effects. Some preliminary research suggests that chemicals in pomegranate seeds might slow the progression of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and possibly fight cancer cells.
Eurycoma longifolia (White Tongkat Ali)
Eurycoma longifolia is a medicinal plant commonly called Tongkat Ali and “Malaysian ginseng.” Tongkat Ali roots are a traditional “anti-aging” remedy and modern supplements are intended to improve libido, energy, sports performance and weight loss. It is also a folk remedy for malaria. Previous studies have shown properly-standardized Tongkat Ali to stimulate release of free testosterone, improve sex drive, reduce fatigue, and improve well-being. It can increase testosterone level in men by up to 500%.
