Product Description

Bumi Plus is a herbal complex formulated to maintain healthy blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. It contains 4 main ingredients, in its layman terms: Green Chiretta, Misai Kucing, Gurmar and Bitter Gourd. These 4 ingredients each have its potent benefits and work together to give the best results.

Andrographis paniculata (Green Chiretta)

A herb readily available in Southeast Asia. The name is synonymous with chelate and its bitter taste. It has been used for many years as a natural healer to cure sickness in the archipelago. In a book “Farmasi Hijau Malaysia”, Green Chiretta, also known as Hempedu Bumi, is recognized and listed as a medicinal herb by the World Health Organization, WHO. In most research, Green Chiretta is used as a remedy to lower blood pressure and control diabetes.

Orthosiphon stamineus (Misai Kucing)

A medical herb found mainly throughout South East Asia and tropical Australia. The plant can be identified by its white or purple flowers bearing long, protruding stamens that resemble cats’ whiskers. Its looks has gave itself the name “Misai Kucing” in Malay, which means cat whiskers. Evidence-based studies revealed that Misai Kucing possesses several healing properties, which are attributed to its phytochemical content. Hence, it is valued due to its ability to treat a variety of diseases that includes the bladder and kidney. It was found to exhibit diuretic, hypouricemic, renal protective, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, gastroprotective, anti-hypertensive, anti-diabetic, and anti-microbial activities.

Momordica charantia (Bitter Gourd)

Bitter Gourd is rich in hypoglycaemic compound, which lowers sugar levels in blood. The fruit contains at least three active substances with anti-diabetic properties, including charantin, which has been confirmed to have a blood glucose-lowering effect, vicine and an insulin-like compound known as polypeptide-p. These substances either work individually or together to help reduce blood sugar levels. It is also known that bitter gourd contains a lectin that reduces blood glucose concentrations by acting on peripheral tissues and suppressing appetite – similar to the effects of insulin in the brain. This lectin is thought to be a major factor behind the hypoglycaemic effect that develops after eating bitter gourd.

Gymnema sylvestre (Gurmar)

Popularly known as Gurmar (sugar destroyer in Hindi), it is a woody climbing shrub that’s native to the tropical forests of India, Africa and Australia. Its leaves have been used in the ancient Indian medicinal practice, Ayurveda, for thousands of years. It has been a traditional remedy for various ailments, including diabetes, malaria and snakebites. It contains gymnemic acid, which suppresses appetite for sweet food and reduces the intestinal absorption of the sugar glucose. Gymnema sylvestre appears to contribute to favorable insulin levels by increasing insulin production and regenerating insulin-secreting islet cells in people with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes. These activities of Gymnema sylvestre can help lower blood sugar levels. However, if you’re taking blood-sugar-lowering medications, consult with your doctor first.
